Acupuncture involves the placement of very tiny sterile needles into specific locations of the body that contain a concentration of nerve endings. The needles stimulate small bundles of nerve endings that send signals locally, as well as to the brain and spinal cord, to decrease muscle tension/inflammation and stimulates endorphin release. Acupuncture is effective for the rehabilitation of many conditions thanks to the nerve stimulation, increased blood flow, and relief of pain.
