Veterinarian - 0 positions open

At CROC, we do not perform diagnostics, prescribe medications, perform surgery or any other services not directly related to Physical Rehabilitation. Complete with two Underwater Treadmills, two Therapeutic Lasers, Therapeutic Ultrasound, Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation, Neuromuscular Electrical Stimulation, a large obstacle course designed for patients to safely participate in Target Exercises, and a medical team with extensive Veterinary Medical experience and education, our cage-free facility allows our medical team to help dogs feel better, move easier, and be safer by relieving pain, restoring range of motion, preventing injuries, and expanding the physical potential of every patient. Rather than the cold hospital feel, we provide a more comfortable experience to help patients feel comfortable, our team doesn't wear scrubs or white coats and 17 Big Barker orthopedic memory foam dog beds are provided for patients to relax on while their Thermotherapy, Cryotherapy, Therapeutic Massage, Prescribed Stretching, and Veterinary Medical Acupuncture is performed. As we exclusively provide treatments that are clinically proven with peer-reviewed evidence of efficacy and safety, we do not provide Chiropractic services. We strive to separate our practice from the patient’s regular GP so that we can build a trusting relationship with them where we can help heal what hurts them most. As such, our Veterinarians must be able to perform thorough nose to tail physical exams with dogs of all ages, and breeds including gait analysis, neurological evaluations, goniometry measurements, and more with an extremely gentle hand and calm, confident demeanor. Due to the wide variety of patients we treat, our Veterinarians must have solid experience and understanding of common medical conditions including cardiac/respiratory conditions, cancer, arthritis, pre-and post-orthopedic surgery, soft tissue injuries, neurological conditions, congenital conditions, obesity, atrophy, etc as well as the established treatments and/or surgeries to treat them. Many clients are new to the idea of Veterinary Medical Physical Rehabilitation and have often experienced significant stress and fear while navigating their pet's medical condition before they arrive at CROC, so compassionate and patient support and education is integral to beginning a trusting relationship. Our Physical Rehabilitation Consultations are 2 hour long appointments during which you will meet with the client to discuss the patient's medical history, diet, lifestyle, home environment, behavior, and the client's concerns/goals. Patients are then dropped off for 45-60 minutes for their exam and, if appropriate and safe, their first Rehabilitation treatments will be performed by our medical team while you prepare the treatment plan with the assistance of one of our Rehab Practitioners. Upon the client's return, you will advise the client of your exam findings and prognosis, then present the prescribed treatment plan. Treatment plans consist of both in-clinic therapies and prescribed home exercises, as well as recommendations for medication, lifestyle/home modifications, nutrition, and behavior. Progress Exams are similar, though you will only meet with the client when they return to pick up. A Rehab Practitioner may join you in the room to assist with client communications and education as needed. Patients often present with extensive medical history, so attention to detail while examining medical records and new client forms is integral to the patient's treatment plan. Patients presenting for Progress Exams will also come with a Progress Exam Questionnaire, completed by the client, regarding perceived and measurable changes since initiating therapy to compare to in-clinic documentation and that day's physical exam. Since we work closely with referring veterinarians and maintain and whole body approach, we continue to collect updated medical records that are then evaluated by our Veterinarians so that any necessary changes can be made to their treatment plan. We have taken great care to hire highly experienced and formally educated veterinary medical professionals, with heavy emphasis on state licensure and continued education, to ensure that even the most fragile patient will be handled with the delicate skill their condition requires and pet owners can trust that the information and recommendations they receive can be trusted as medically accurate and appropriate for their pet. Our tight knit team has been selected and trained with the understanding that no employee is more valuable than the other and mutual respect is non-negotiable. We have diligently curated a work environment free of cliquey or toxic behavior so often seen in veterinary medicine so that our team can focus on healing patients and trust that anyone can always ask for help and rely on each other. This is a 1099 position with approximately 6-8 hour shifts, 3 days a week, though the schedule is somewhat flexible if needed. California DVM license required. CCRP and/or CCAT certifications are strongly preferred, as is certification in Veterinary Medical Acupuncture, though not required.
